Heritage
Aviation Is Our Family Business.
Sophisticated, family-owned hospitality and aviation services since 1947.
Before National Jets was an air center, it was an idea.
Before National Jets was one of the nation's largest business air center hubs, it was the idea of three brothers — a family service station in North Carolina that grew into an industry-leading aviation corporation.
1947
Three brothers in Durham
Carl, James and Thomas Boy establish the family business in Durham, North Carolina, beginning with a family-owned service station and growing it toward aviation.
1960
Florida and the transport years
The company is reincorporated in Florida and moves to Fort Lauderdale's international airport, specializing in leasing and operating large transport aircraft — DC-3s, 4s, 6s and 7s, Super Constellations and Convairs — carrying oil drilling equipment across South and Central America, produce to the Caribbean, and later distributing the Wall Street Journal with more than 20 aircraft across the U.S.
1970s
The jet age
The organization purchases its first Learjet and becomes one of the first flight schools for fighter pilots leaving the Vietnam War as they transition into the growing executive aviation industry.
1976
Air ambulance leadership
National expands into air ambulance medevac across the region, flying for children's hospitals and major cruise lines. National Air Ambulance ultimately helps write Florida's fixed-wing medevac regulations and receives Air Ambulance certificate #1.
1982
Maintenance at FLL
Aircraft maintenance operations begin in the company's 22,000 sq. ft. hangar facility at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
